Don’t Miss the Final Day of Summer Fun at the Outlets at Castle Rock
Summer is winding down, and so is our third annual concert series at the Outlets at Castle Rock. Join us on Monday, September 1 for one last day of live music, family fun, and great food in the East 4th Street Courtyard (next to H&M).
Family Fun Friday runs from 12 to 2 p.m. with free activities for kids and fun for all ages.
Then from 3 to 6 p.m., enjoy the final live music performance of the season, plus food trucks and a festive atmosphere you won’t want to miss.

September 7th: Tri the Rock
All you have to do is try!
That’s the motto local kids should keep in mind as they pull on their swimsuits, dust off their bikes and lace up their sneakers. It’s time for the Town’s 20th annual Tri the Rock youth triathlon.
Athletes of all ability levels, ages 5 to 18, are invited to participate. Registration is available at CRgov.com/TriTheRock. The race distances are:
- Ages 5 to 6: 25-meter swim (one pool length), 1-kilometer bike ride (one lap around Butterfield Park) and a 500-meter run
- Ages 7 to 10: 50-meter swim (two pool lengths, down and back), 4-kilometer bike ride and a 1-kilometer run
- Ages 11 to 14: 100-meter swim (four pool lengths, down and back twice), 8-kilometer bike ride and a 2-kilometer run
- Ages 15 to 18: 200-meter swim (eight pool lengths, down and back four times), 16-kilometer bike ride and 3-mile run
The registration deadline is Monday, Sept. 1, and day-of registration will not be offered. Prices increase on June 1. Registration fees include a T-shirt, goody bag and post-race meal.

The Festival Park Farmers Market temporarily moves to the Douglas County Wilcox Building for the Art Fest on Sunday, Sept. 7. The market d runs every Sunday through mid-October.

September 9th: Animals Around the Rock Series – Batty About Castle Rock
Join Douglas Land Conservancy and the Town for an up-close look at the wild animals that call our area home—and beyond. These programs feature local wildlife experts, organizations, and rehabilitators like Nature’s Educators, who will introduce you to raptors, reptiles, bats, insects, and more. Learn what these animals eat, how they hunt, where they live, and the important role they play in our ecosystems.
Join Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance for a presentation on local bats, adaptations and the benefits they bring to our ecology, sponsored by the Douglas Land Conservancy. Due to limited seating, registration is required and limited to 80 participants. This program is recommended for ages 8 and up.
Additionally, donations to Douglas Land Conservancy of $10 per person or $20 per family are suggested as part of the Animals Around the Rock series.

September 13th: Free Paint Recycling Event
Get rid of your old, unwanted paint. Clean up your garage and basement and keep paint products out of the landfill.
The Town of Castle Rock is partnering with the Douglas County High School Boys Lacrosse team and GreenSheen for a fun and eco-friendly event where you can safely dispose of your unwanted paint.
The free paint recycling collection event is happening at Douglas County High School (north parking lot), 2842 Front St. Don’t miss this opportunity to declutter your space and contribute to a greener environment.
Register for a time slot today at https://circular.eco/event/DCHS2025. All types of paint, from latex to oil-based will be accepted. A team of experts will be on hand to guide you through the process and ensure everything is properly recycled.
Paint recycling is free. Voluntary donations will support Douglas County High School boys lacrosse team.

September 17th: A Rally of Hope for Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
The Castle Rock Police Department is rallying together to bring more awareness to mental health and suicide. CRPD invites the community to talk about mental health at its sixth annual A Rally of Hope event on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The event will take place at Festival Park in Downtown Castle Rock from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will have access to Colorado-based mental health providers who will be available to answer questions and provide information and resources.

Proceeds from this amazing event at our beautiful outdoor venue are used to provide scholarships, purchase adaptive equipment and provide access to a wide variety of activities for adults and children with cognitive or physical disabilities. The Castle Rock Museum will give free walking tours of downtown Castle Rock each month from June to September.
The 45-minute tour will begin at The Courtyard on Perry Street, 333 Perry St. and will conclude at the Castle Rock Museum, 420 Elbert Street. The tour will highlight the history of Castle Rock and its many historic buildings. Reservations are not required.

September 30th: 2025 State of the Town

Parking at Cantril School is limited. Park at the Encore parking garage, on the corner of Perry and South streets, and ride the Town Trolley to and from the event. The Town Trolley will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
