May 23rd to Sept 1st: Rock the Mountain at the Outlets at Castle Rock

This summer is going to be ROCKIN’ at the Outlets at Castle Rock!

The Outlets at Castle Rock is thrilled to bring back live and local entertainment for the third year in a row in our East 4th Street Courtyard (next to H&M)!

New this year: Family Fun Fridays (12 to 2 p.m.) featuring FREE kid-friendly activities and fun for all ages!

Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day brings good vibes, great music, and tasty food trucks on select weekends. It’s the perfect time to shop, groove, and enjoy summer at its finest!

July 19th: Walking Tour of Downtown Castle Rock

Castle Rock Museum conducts its annual free Walking Tour of Downtown Castle Rock on June 28, July 19, Aug. 23 and Sept. 27

The Castle Rock Museum will give free walking tours of downtown Castle Rock each month from June to September. Other tour dates are July 19, Aug. 23 and Sept. 27.

The 45-minute tour will begin at The Courtyard on Perry Street, 333 Perry St. and will conclude at the Castle Rock Museum, 420 Elbert Street. The tour will highlight the history of Castle Rock and its many historic buildings. Reservations are not required.

July 8th: Animals Around the Rock Series – Raptors Over the Rock

Join Douglas Land Conservancy and the Town as we dive into the characteristics that define our local wildlife, including raptors, reptiles, bats, insects and other species. Local wildlife experts, organizations and wildlife rehabilitators, such as Nature’s Educators, will be featured at these programs. Discover the various types of animals that live locally and all over the world. Find out what they eat, how they hunt, where they live and how they benefit the local ecosystems.

Join Nature’s Educators for this popular presentation featuring the birds that share our home. Learn about the characteristics that define raptors, including where they live and how they hunt. Arrive early for picnicking.

Dogs are not allowed at the event in order to minimize disturbance to the birds.

July 12th: Pedal the Moon

Grab your bike, helmet and a few decorations. Family fun is lighting up East Plum Creek Trail at the Town’s annual Pedal the Moon bike ride.

As dusk begins to fall, riders will follow East Plum Creek Trail to Festival Park — approximately 6 miles on mostly flat terrain suitable for riders of all ages.

Cyclists are encouraged to participate in the festive spirit by decking out their bikes with lights and other embellishments. At the intersection of East Plum Creek and Hangman’s Gulch trails, be sure to stop at the decorating station and get creative with glow-in-the-dark items, provided on a first-come, first-served basis. All participants must wear a helmet and have a front headlamp and blinking rear light.

Once you arrive at Festival Park grab a hot dog, chips, and a drink, then relax under the light of the moon, enjoy the music and grab some glow giveaways.

July 17th: Tunes for Trails / Perks for Parks Free Concert – That Eighties Band

Celebrate the summer season with live music, and participate in a good cause with the Tunes for Trails / Perks for Parks free concert series

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Pack a picnic and enjoy some time with the family before the show. Food and alcohol will also be available for purchase. No outside beverages are allowed except one factory-sealed water bottle per person.

July 19th: Philadelphia Freedom – A Tribute to Elton John with special guest The Who Generation

An unforgettable night of live music at Philip S. Miller Park’s Amphitheater in Castle Rock! On July 19th, enjoy Philadelphia Freedom: A Tribute to Elton John with special guest The Who Generation. This high-energy tribute captures Elton’s greatest hits like “Rocket Man,” “Bennie and the Jets,” and “Philadelphia Freedom” with dazzling vocals, piano, and flair.

July 25th: Western Heritage Welcome Cattle Drive

Experience the Old West as cowhands from Silverado Ranch drive Texas Longhorns through Downtown Castle Rock! Starting at Rock Park and ending at the Police Department, the route follows Perry Street—please stay behind safety barriers.

The Cattle Drive kicks off Douglas County Fair & Rodeo festivities and honors the area’s rich ranching history along the historic Goodnight-Loving Trail. Don’t miss the return of the Rocky Mountain Indigenous Dancers leading the drive, followed by live performances, food trucks, family fun, and more at Festival Park!

July 26th: Douglas County Fair Parade

Since 1954 the Fair Parade has kicked off the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo.

Celebrate the Fair Parade in downtown Castle Rock, presented by the Castle Rock Chamber in partnership with the Town of Castle Rock.

Jazz in the Park

Every Wednesday evening in June, July, and August as local musicians bring smooth jazz to Festival Park. This laid-back, pop-up style event embraces small-town charm—no stage, no vendors, no food trucks, and no alcohol—just great music and a relaxed atmosphere.

While there’s no food service in the park, it’s the perfect chance to explore Castle Rock’s downtown dining scene. Dine in, or grab takeout and enjoy your meal picnic-style under the stars. Don’t forget to bring your own blankets or lawn chairs.
