The Castle Rock Police Department continues its Coffee with a Cop series. Launched in 2014, these informal conversations with Castle Rock Police Officers at local coffee shops, restaurants and other venues give residents and business owners a chance to connect with police in a relaxed atmosphere.

Join the Castle Rock Police Department for National Coffee With A Cop Day, celebrated on the first Wednesday of October! Ask questions, share about your neighborhood and learn about the people who protect and serve our residents, businesses and visitors.

District 5 Open House with Council Member Max Brooks

Join your District 5 Councilmember Max Brooks to learn what’s happening in Town. The open house runs from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Fire Station 153, 5463 E. Sovereign St.

No formal presentations are planned, just casual conversations. Town staff members will be present in addition to your Councilmember to ensure the exchange of a variety of information. 

Plus, meet a Castle Rock Police therapy dog and learn how they work with school resource officers to build connections and provide support in schools. And, free cold treats will be served up by the Castle Rock Police Department Frosty 5-0.

Castle Rock Trail Festival and liveBIG Family Adventure Run

Challenge yourself on Castle Rock’s vast ridgeline trail system. This epic athletic event has something for everyone from ultra-distance runners to families with children ages 5 to 12.

Participants can explore the breathtaking trails of Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space, pushing their limits in the longer races or creating lasting memories on the family-friendly obstacle course at the liveBIG Family Adventure Run.

Annual Walking Tour of Cedar Hill Cemetery

A leisurely walk through historic grave sites in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Cedar Hill was founded in 1875 and is the only cemetery in Castle Rock. It contains the remains of pioneers significant in the early history of Castle Rock and Douglas County. The tour is free, and no reservations are required.

Participating restaurants will be creating a special item that is not on their menu just for your dining enjoyment.  Come support local, independent restaurants in the fall in Downtown Castle Rock! Castle Rock Historical Society and Museum’s Monthly Presentation: History of Railroads in Colorado

A presentation by Castle Rock Historical Society board member, David Roh on the “History of Railroads in Colorado.” Mr. Roh is a lifelong railroad enthusiast and history buff. He will talk about the history of railroads in Colorado especially in the 19th century.

Spooktacular

It’s Halloween and time for fall fun with the entire family. Celebrate all things not-so-spooky at Spooktacular. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged but not required. Activities include games, prizes, food and, of course, candy.

Fall Festival featuring Creepy Crawlies Around the Rock

From the changing leaves to the soft fall breeze, there is something special about this season. Experience a Fall Festival full of activities, seasonal vendors and all things autumn.

Fall Festival

Stroll through dozens of vendors featuring food and craft products, hosted by the LOCAL Colorado, the organizer of the Festival Park Farmers Market. Enjoy locally created fall-themed treats and gifts, roasted chilies, fall produce and more.

Families can participate in activity stations such as outdoor games, pumpkin decorating, fall crafts and a decorated photo booth. Plus, don’t miss a chance to purchase a locally-grown pumpkin. Local favorite food trucks and beverage vendors will also be on site.

Creepy Crawlies Around the Rock

Douglas Land Conservancy will join the fun with Creepy Crawlies Around the Rock, presented by Nature’s Educators. This educational Halloween-themed animal booth will include some of Castle Rock’s creepiest creatures, such as snakes, toads and other invertebrates.

Experience a delightful booth-to-booth trick-or-treat adventure filled with Halloween music, festive vendor booths, and, of course, plenty of candy to satisfy every sweet tooth.

Festival Park Farmers Market

Don’t miss locally raised meats, farm-fresh eggs, a variety of fresh produce, delicious baked goods, artisan-made products and more from nearly 40 vendors. Support local business and agriculture while getting outside, meeting neighbors and enjoying delicious local fare.

The market opens Memorial Day weekend and runs every Sunday through mid-October.

Ghostly Stories and Tragic Tales of Castle Rock 2025

A walking tour of Downtown Castle Rock featuring tales of ghostly and tragic events in Castle Rock’s history.

Come hear stories of The Rock, The Old Stone Church, The B&B Café, and more. Tours begin and end at the Castle Rock Museum. Please dress for the weather.
